Rounding out a list of incredible new hires here a Rounding out a list of incredible new hires here at Nequette, we introduce to you Jordan Payne! A recent Environmental Design graduate from Auburn and a Birmingham native, Jordan jumped right into all things Nequette and Weave on day one! She credits her parents Terri and Darren with being her biggest supporters of her goal of becoming a designer. We are equally thankful for Terri and Darren as well since we now get to collaborate with Jordan on the daily.

1.What are you looking forward to the most about working at Nequette?

Nequette is a place where I can see myself growing to become the designer I have always dreamed of. I am looking forward to working in a place that encourages creativity, community, and sustainability! I have already learned so much from my coworkers in the first week or so and I am thrilled to keep learning more. The overall atmosphere is great, and I love the teamwork and collaborative nature that is embodied in the studio.

2. If you are going on a road trip, what would be your gas station snack of choice?

Dots pretzels or Sour Patch Kids.

3. What is your favorite series (tv or movie) to binge watch?

That is a hard question, I have so many. If I had to pick one, it would be Game of Thrones... I may or may not have watched the entire series three times over.

4. Favorite trip you have ever gone on?

My favorite trip I have ever gone on was to Copenhagen, Denmark. It was a life changing experience where I learned, tried, and saw so many new things. As a designer, this was a bucket list travel destination for me. During my time abroad, I completed my thesis on the genius loci of the city where I took a deep dive into the methodology behind the design of the built environment. I hope to visit again someday and would love to have my family join me.

Welcome, Jordan! We are happy to have you on the NEQ team! #nequettearchitecture
Last week, Nequette had the great privilege to get Last week, Nequette had the great privilege to get our hands dirty and give back to the community with Habitat for Humanity-Birmingham! It was a long, hot, rewarding day of putting up OSB, building porch beams, and raising trusses - a.k.a. learning who had a fear of heights or not - and we already can't wait for next year's work day! We hope the family who eventually moves in will feel the NEQ love.

We are excited to welcome Kimberly Wilson to our a We are excited to welcome Kimberly Wilson to our admin team as our full-time Recruiter & Operations Coordinator!

Kimberly moved from Atlanta to Birmingham with her husband 24 years ago, and now has a daughter in medical school and her son is a rising high school senior. Kimberly recently gained her MBA from Louisiana State University – Shreveport and has a personal photography business (@kimberlyawilsonphotography), as well as many other passions. We are thrilled to have her on board to lead our professional development as a firm and as individuals!

1. What are you looking forward to the most about working at Nequette?

I am most looking forward to the team atmosphere already cultivated at NEQ. It has been fun getting to know each designer and administrator; and as a curious creative, I can totally relate to the wonderful energy everyone brings to the firm. As a recruiter for NEQ, it will be amazing to help grow the talented team, as well as learn from and motivate the current members.

2. What’s your go-to coffee/tea/etc. order?

June’s pistachio-rose latte – warm with regular milk. It is divine!

3. Favorite trip you have ever gone on?

Oh, wow, that is a hard one. There are so many favorites to mention, but I will narrow it down to two beginning with the summer of 2019, when I spent time in Northern Italy, Switzerland, and England with my family. Lugano, Switzerland and Cinque Terre, Italy were highlights and both were unbelievably beautiful. That trip was absolutely awe inspiring at every turn! A close second was Paris 2009, when we frolicked all over the city with our children (who were young at the time). We had the best time exploring that beautiful city, plus experiencing Paris through their lens was the highlight of the whole trip.

Welcome, @kimberlyawilson!
