From the beginning, both the client and the architect understood the importance of style and comfort in creating a residence that was both modern and warmly approachable.
From there, the Nequette team was given a clean and open slate to approach the design in a way that fully realizes the many facets of the Nequette design philosophy utilizing modern proportions and timeless materials.
Although not excessively “showy” and subtly visible from the road, the main focal point occurs once you’ve come through the house and are outside between the home and lake. The home blends the barrier between the indoors and outdoors, by use of 12’ steel floor-to-ceiling corner doors that open to the outside creating a seamless transition between spaces. Copper panels patina and change over time to give the impression the building is living and aging, and becoming a natural part of the shoreline.
